Overnight Retreats, Overnight Camps & Trips To Israel

Our community sees great importance in providing teens with immersive Jewish experiences as a way to strengthen their connection to Israel, Jewish identity,  heritage and peoplehood.

 

Majority of teens in our community lack any positive exposure to Jewish heritage or values due to their upbringing in the families that immigrated from the former Soviet Union, where religious practice was forbidden and Jewish education was prohibited.

 

By providing grants for immersive experiences such as overnight camps, trips to Israel or social/educational retreats, our community provides opportunities for young people to explore their Jewish roots in a positive and engaging environment.

 

These experiences help teens gain a deeper understanding of their cultural and religious heritage, fostering a sense of community and ensuring a continuity of the Jewish peoplehood.

Jewish immersive experiences also play a crucial role in helping teens develop resilience against antisemitism that has grown dramatically and unfortunately has become a staple of everyday life.

 

By immersing teens in Jewish culture, traditions and values, we equip young people with the knowledge and confidence to face challenges related to the Jewish identity in the United States. Learning about enlightened Jewish spiritual & moral values, studying the rich history of the Jewish people, including overcoming persecution, enables teens to develop a strong sense of pride in their heritage and helps them to withstand the bias and hostility that Jewish people face today.

 

Furthermore, connecting with other Jewish teens who share similar experiences helps create a support network that fosters community and comradery, offering strength & support in the face of adversity.
